February 8, 2021 - 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals brings Kelley to Volusia
1We entered the DIRTcar Nationals at the Volusia Speedway Park this past week and nearly 100 UMP Modifieds entered each night.

Tuesday night, we used a test session and tried some new setups. We didn't make the feature, but got some good notes.

Wednesday night, we ran 5th in our heat and placed 20th in the feature.

Thursday night, we qualified 3rd in our group and ran 2nd in our heat race and we were running inside the top five early in the race and got turned around by a car from behind, sending us to the tail. From there, we damaged the nose a bit and officially finished 24th.

Friday night, our gator hunting trip at the Volusia Speedway Park was cut short after we got caught up in a huge pileup on the start of our feature.

After being rained out on Saturday night, we were back in action on Sunday night at the Volusia Speedway Park with our #22 DIRTcar Racing UMP Modified. We had already qualified 3rd in our group before the rains came on Saturday night, so we rolled off from the second row in our heat on Sunday. We were able to cross the checkered flag with a 4th place finish in our heat, qualifying for the night's feature. In the feature, we struggled a bit and came home with a 25th place finish.

Monday, we started 5th in our last chance race and quickly raced up to third and were battling for the final transfer spot into the $5,000 to win Gator Championship feature until we were involved in a turn two crash, which ended up with us backwards in the wall. The car suffered considerable damage and our night was over.

January 23, 2021 - 11th place finish in Winternationals opener at East Bay
1Dale began his 2021 racing season during the 45th annual East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals for DIRTcar UMP Modifieds this past week. After a solid practice night on Monday, the 5 race mini-series kicked off on Tuesday night with Dale qualifying third in his group, then running third in his heat, which put him 14th in the feature lineup. In the feature, he was involved in a crash early on, which relegated him to the tail and from there he was able to work his way back forward to cross the finish line with an 11th finish on the opening night. 1Wednesday night saw him once again qualify third in his group, run third in his heat race and start the feature from the 18th starting spot. In the feature, he quickly raced his way into the top ten and then into the top five before suffering a flat tire on a restart and sending him into the work area for repairs. After changing the tire, he was able to restart at the tail and rallied to a 13th place finish at the checkered.

Thursday, he qualified 4th, then ran 4th in his heat race on a flat tire, which put him into the night's b-main. The team missed the setup a bit in the b, and he did not transfer into the feature, ending his night early.

Friday, he qualified fourth in his group and then was able to win his heat race, putting him 3rd in the feature lineup for the night. In the feature, he was involved in an early altercation, which forced him to restart at the tail. He was able to advance forward several stops before being involved in another crash, which ended his night.

Saturday, for the finale, he ran fourth in his heat race and then ended up with a flat tire in the b, but was able to start the 75-lap, $5,000 to win feature due to the fact that he was the highest driver in the 2020 EBRP season point standings that failed to qualify for the feature, so he was awarded the 26th starting position.

In the feature, he was able to work through traffic with ease early and raced from 26th into the top ten before the half way point. He decided to go into the work area for repairs at the fuel stop break and restarted at the tail. After surviving a few more caution periods, he was able to rally from the tail to cross the line with a 12th place finish for his efforts.
